Best Mobile Websites and Best Mobile Apps of 2022 To Be Named By Web Marketing Association

The Web Marketing Association is pleased to announce the call for entries for its 11th annual international MobileWebAward competition.  It recognizes the individual and team achievements of Web professionals all over the world who create and maintain outstanding mobile Websites and mobile applications.  The deadline for entry in the 2022 MobileWebAwards is September 30, 2022.  The entry form for this award program can be found at http://www.mobile-webaward.org.

“Today there are more than 15 billion mobile devices in the world today, up more than 1 billion devices in the past year alone. If a company is not effectively using mobile to reach its audience, it’s dead in the water.” said William Rice, president of the Web Marketing Association.  “The goal of the MobileWebAwards is to both recognize the people and organizations responsible for developing some of the most effective mobile Web sites and mobile apps on the Internet. Whether a responsive website, mobile-specific website or a mobile app, our expert judges will select the best offerings in 86 industries.”

The MobileWebAwards were judged on seven criteria seen as requirements for a success mobile website or mobile app. They include Creativity, Impact, Design, Content, Interactivity, Ease of use and Use of the medium. Each mobile website or mobile app entry is judged against other entries of the same format in its industry category and then against an overall standard of excellence.

This year’s top awards will include:

  • A “Best of Industry” MobileWebAward will be given in each of the 86 industry categories, including financial services, medical, small business, travel, advertising, transportation and government.
  • The competition’s highest honor, the 2022 MobileWebAward “Best of Show,” will be given to the one best mobile website and one best mobile app that the judges believe represents the pinnacle of outstanding achievement in Web development.
  • The Web Marketing Association will also recognize the interactive agency winning the most awards in the competition with the “Top Interactive Agency” WebAward.
  • Each organization that wins 5 or more MobileWebAwards will be awarded an Outstanding Mobile Interactive Developer trophy.

Last year’s top awards winners were:

EKR won Best of Show Mobile Website for “Nature’s Sunshine” which was also recognized as Best Consumer Goods Mobile Website.

GEICO won Best of Show Mobile Application for “GEICO Mobile” which also was recognized as Best Insurance Mobile Application.

TMP Worldwide was named Top Interactive Agency for the 2021 MobileWebAwards competition.

Judging for the 2022 MobileWebAwards will take place in October and winners are expected to be announced in late December.  Judges will consist of a select group of Internet professionals who have direct experience designing and managing mobile Websites, including members of the media, interactive creative directors, site designers, content providers and webmasters – with an in-depth understanding of the current state-of-the-art in Web site development and technology. Web Professionals Needed To Judge 26th annual WebAward Competition

Excellence deserves recognition and the Web Marketing Association is looking for experienced Internet professionals who can help judge the Websites that are entered into its 26th annual international WebAward competition, the standards-defining award program that sets industry benchmarks based on the seven criteria of a successful Web site. Interested individuals can submit their names for consideration using the WebAward Judges Nomination Form.

The 2022 WebAward Competition for Website development is currently accepting entries until May 31, 2022. Judging will begin in mid-June and run through early August.

“The WebAwards is different from other Web site award programs because we’re not just a beauty pageant focused on name recognition of big-time brands and pretty designs,” said William Rice, President of the Web Marketing Association.  “Our judges are handed picked experts who have hands on experience either leading or developing some of today’s top Websites.  These individuals understand that participating as a judge in the WebAwards is one excellent way to give back to the online marketing community and help it to grow and evolve.”

Web Marketing Association to Offer NFTs to WebAward Winners

Web Marketing Association announces that winners of the 2022 WebAward Competition for Website Development will be eligible to receive a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) of their award. It is believed that the WebAward’s are the first marketing award program to offer NFTs to award winners.

“As Web3 continues to evolve, web Marketing Association thought it would be important to recognize this evolution by offering an NFT to our winners”, said William Rice, President of the Web Marketing Association. “We are developing a process so that participants in an award winning website can demonstrate their success to the world.”

The deadline for education websites to enter to be judged is May 31, 2022.

“The education industry is very competitive when it comes to Web development and need to be because of the expectations of their young consumers,” said William Rice, President of the Web Marketing Association. “Education web sites tend target youth and their parents. Students today have grown up with the Internet and expect a lot to be impressed from an educational institution.”

The WebAwards is the standards-defining competition that sets benchmarks for 96 industries, including advocacy, arts and non-profit websites, based on the seven criteria of a successful web site. The deadline for public interest websites to enter is May 31, 2022.


“Advocacy and non-profit websites are very competitive when it comes to Web development and organizations can benefit from the independent evaluation of their online efforts,” said William Rice, President of the Web Marketing Association.  “Advocacy sites tend to be very good a pulling at the heart strings to sway visitors to their particular point of view. Strong writing and good use of images make many of these sites successful. Sites entered into the non-profit category also benefit from a reduced entry fee which is our way of recognizing the budget constraints at many of these organizations. ”

There is also a reduced entry fee for sites entering the Non-profit industry category.

Web Marketing Association to Name Best Restaurant Web site of 2022

The Web Marketing Association is looking for the Best Restaurant Websites in the world as part of their 26th annual international WebAward Competition for Web site developmentat the WebAward Web site. The WebAwards is the standards-defining competition that sets benchmarks for 96 industries, including restaurant web sites, based on the seven criteria of a successful Web site. The deadline for restaurant web sites to enter to be judged is May 31, 2022.


“Restaurant industry marketing has been truly transformed by the Internet,” said William Rice, President of the Web Marketing Association. “People have many choices when it comes to how to spend their dining dollars and often the first thing they turn to is a restaurant’s website. Having that aspect of your restaurant website reviewed is just one benefit of participating in the annual WebAward program. Being named an ‘award-winner’ can help with marketing as well”.

Web sites are judged on seven criteria including design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copy writing and ease of use. Each WebAward entry in the advertising category is judged against other advertising entries in its industry category and then against an overall standard of excellence.
