Strategy
This year, the worlds’ population reached 7 billion, and the challenges facing humanity have never been greater. Global challenges related to food, fuel, and protection demand that governments, NGOs, and businesses work collaboratively and innovatively to devise solutions that improve the lives of people around the world.
As one of the country’s oldest companies, public perception failed to recognize DuPont’s adaptive approach to business based on the market demand.
To establish DuPont as a crucial partner in addressing these challenges, we needed to showcase their influential and innovative contributions through a multi-platform content-based program.
Execution
To showcase DuPont’s approach to science in a modern world, a twelve-episode short documentary series was developed to highlight the multi-tiered relationships that have resulted in solutions to address our world’s greatest challenges. Each documentary also highlights the inventive thinking, materials, and science that enabled these solutions.
Premiering alongside each episode of Horizons, a new show about the future of global business, key decision makers were exposed to the stories through BBC World News and Bloomberg, as well as online through YouTube. Furthermore, DuPont leveraged the films through top industry PR channels, thought leadership events, trade shows, and internal channels to get clients, customers, and employees excited about the impact their work is having on real people.
Results
By featuring the lives affected by solutions to our world’s greatest challenges, “Stories of Inclusive Innovation” documentary series reinvigorated perceptions of DuPont. Reaching 360 million households worldwide, and with over 2 million YouTube views, governments, NGOs, and businesses began to understand the innovative thinking, science, and materials that DuPont has to offer.
