HeBS Digital and SVH came up with the company-wide Black Friday promotion to create brand awareness and stimulate bookings in what is traditionally the slowest booking period of the year. It was HeBS’ goal to create and develop an interactive and appealing microsite consumers would want to visit daily and share with friends. The goal of the project was to drive social and viral activity to spread the word about the super low discounted rates, which ranged from 35-75% off to over 20 resort destinations. Additional objectives included increasing the fan/follower base on various social media sites, and growing the email/mobile database for future marketing efforts. Through the duration of the sale, the main website featured a new flash hero graphic, a query pop-up and banners on every page to drive traffic to the microsite. Shell Vacations Hospitality and its guests/customers raved about the Black Friday Travel Sale this year. In all, the Black Friday Travel Sale was a success, netting $357,095 in revenue, a 50% increase in revenue year over year. Also, the company added 190 new followers on Facebook, 53 new Twitter followers, and 486 new SMS mobile numbers.
