Created by BlueRush for the Afexa brand IMMUNITY-FX, WODMAP taps into an existing fan base of extreme athletic enthusiasts through the creation of guerilla-style videos (with low budgets, skeleton crews, and simple props). These videos show elite athletes filming their “Workout of the Day” (WOD) while they compete against other athletes – and the clock!
The intention of this project was to expand the IMMUNITY-FX brand outwards from the existing core user base by creating an association between extreme athletic enthusiasts and the IMMUNITY-FX brand. The brand push in this application is very subtle.
WODMAP also included the creation of an online community to promote similar activity across the country (putting the “MAP” in WODMAP). This custom community allows users to easily post and track their workouts by geographic location; tag other workouts onto existing locations, and add videos, photos, routes and other material to support their activity. Users can also tag their favourite workouts and locations and see who else is active in the community.
