Best Entertainment Social Media Campaign

The Kicking Across America (KAA) campaign invited online audiences to join the Christmas in August (CIA) kickline, through the online space, allowing for people Nationwide to engage with the Kicking Across America campaign which began at the end of July and ran through the end of August.

The scope of the 2010 Christmas in August event was to have the world-famous Radio City Rockettes® Kicking Across America simultaneously in New York City and 7 select 2010 National Tour arena cities.

The nationwide event opened with 18 Rockettes performing on 6th Ave outside of Radio City Music Hall®, emceed by Santa Claus. Following the performance, Rockettes in NYC and National Tour cities taught participants how to ‘kick like a Rockette,’ then inviting everyone to join in with the Radio City Rockettes to ‘kick across America.’

The event incorporated a charitable component, encouraging people to ‘join’ the kickline virally, as well as on-site (day of event) as the Radio City Christmas Spectacular® and world-famous Rockettes® kicked for a cause, giving the first gift of Christmas (in August!). By generating 1 million kicks, the Garden of Dreams Foundation sent more than 5,000 deserving children and families across the country to see this magical holiday production!
