Wyndham Hotel Group has over 6,000 hotels in more than 20 countries. The largest loyalty program in the lodging industry, Wyndham Rewards® is the hotel group’s free travel rewards program, wherein members earn points or miles for stays, and can choose from hundreds of rewards options. Among multiple Wyndham Rewards email communications to members, the Monthly Rates Email highlights rates in 10 cities each month, educating customers about affordable lodging across 11 hotel brands. With the email, Wyndham specifically sought to increase the number of hotel stays booked – and revenue during the economic downturn. Wyndham engaged Acxiom’s agency for creative and strategic services in order to improve performance of their Monthly Rates Email Program. The continuous testing and reporting on template/design changes, subject lines, day of the week/time of day, and varying personalization has led to this campaign being the primary revenue driver across all of Wyndham’s other reward programs.
