With the upcoming 2010 Olympic season, COLD-FX (Afexa Life Sciences) as an official supplier of the Winter Games looked to the production and development expertise of BlueRush to dedicate an entire campaign to Viral Marketing, Rich Media and online contests. This campaign began with a contest microsite dedicated to deliver prizes, ranging from branded merchandise to exclusive trips to the Games. To drive additional traffic and attention to the contest site, Afexa in collaboration with BlueRush, also delivered a Viral Campaign using interactive and customizable Rich Media video, to deliver a unique video to every end user as the “Athlete of the Year”. This viral video allowed users to view their personalized video, easily edit and modify the video for friends, and send it out through email and social media tactics, directly from the site. The viral site featured responsibly balanced advertising and to get impressions while providing a fun and engaging user experience, and of course to reach a viral standpoint over 30,000+ views. Since its launch in October 2009, this campaign has witnessed over 170,000 visitors with daily traffic reaching between 1,600 and 2,500 hits in the past month. The overwhelming success of this campaign has not only provided a fun and engaging experience for users with hundreds of prizes, but also aided Afexa with increased sales and database subscriptions.
