Best Automobile Mobile Application

In May 2009, iCrossing launched a mobile site in support of the 3rd Generation Toyota Prius Hybrid for Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc., (http://m.toyota.com/prius Best viewed from an iPhone). Since Toyota’s iPhone traffic is roughly 60 percent of total mobile traffic, iCrossing enhanced Toyota.com’s mobile site to include an award-winning, rich media experience for iPhone users.

Using the iPhone’s advanced web browser and multi-touch capabilities, iCrossing was able to deliver a compelling mobile experience to provide customers with a convenient way to view up-to-date vehicle information, pricing, photos, dealer information and locations. To that end, iCrossing:
• repurposed models & prices content from toyota.com and m.toyota.com for iphone
• added an iPhone photo gallery (full screen images, finger swipe, pinch zoom)
• established a seamless, 360-degree colorizer
• repurposed demo video content from toyota.com, and added new videos (like TV commercials; they were embedded in our site vs linking out to YouTube)
• created a new media & links section to promote social networking efforts (links to facebook, twitter), promote apps and other content in the itunes store
• created a handraiser

The project was part of a larger, multi-channel content strategy for Toyota where iCrossing designed and built the new mobile site, using the advance architectures they had developed for Toyota.com. iCrossing redesigned and launched the Toyota.com site in the Fall of 2008. The mobile site recycles content from the Toyota.com Content Management System (CMS) making updating information on the mobile site virtually maintenance free.
