Teen Vogue is a Condé Nast publication bringing together style-conscious girls everywhere as the number one source of relevant fashion and beauty news. In December 2009, Teen Vogue launched its first mobile application for the iPhone and iPod touch: the Teen Vogue Haute Spot App. The Haute Spot App is a unique offering from TEEN VOGUE that builds on the mission of extending the brand through multiple touch points. Teen Vogue readers embrace digital technology as their primary means of communication, and it’s important for the brand to reach teens and young women wherever they are—delivering engaging, relevant, platform-specific content whenever they want it. With this new app, Teen Vogue extends beyond the printed page and caters to a vibrant audience of young women who are fashion forward, digitally savvy and fully engaged in social media.
The app features four engaging content areas: (1)The Closet, featuring exclusive, app-only fashion and beauty content curated by the editors at Teen Vogue that users can shop, save and share (via email or facebook); (2)My Closet offers app users a place to save their favorite fashions found in The Closet and create their own lookbooks—taking on the role of editor themselves; the (3)Community section is where app users can share their personalized lookbooks and upload photos of looks they spot on the street; (4)My Friends integrates Facebook Connect, allowing girls to connect with their existing social community to share content both within the app and on Facebook.
