On January 28, 2008 the Hilton HHonors program, which includes Hilton®, Conrad® Hotels & Resorts, Doubletree®, Embassy Suites Hotels®, Hampton®, Hilton Garden Inn®, Hilton Grand Vacations™, Homewood Suites by Hilton® and The Waldorf=Astoria Collection™ hotels around the world, launched a new No Blackout Dates campaign. The Hilton HHonors No Blackout Dates policy allows HHonors members to redeem their points for free nights any time a standard room is available:
Unlike other hotel programs:
• HHonors has no capacity controls. All standard rooms are available for rewards, not just a limited number each night.
• HHonors does not require additional points to avoid reward blackout dates. Some hotel programs black out reward rooms and require significantly more points to bypass those blackouts.
• With HHonors, there are no exceptions. Every Hilton Family hotel worldwide offers No Blackout Dates. Some competitive programs exclude selected properties.
The success of No Blackout Dates campaign quickly became evident as it caused a 35% increase in point redemptions when comparing February 2008 to February 2007. No Blackout Dates also assisted in causing a 25% increase in redemptions when comparing to 2008 to 2007 overall.
Adding a new No Blackout Dates benefit for all members made Hilton HHonors the only customer loyalty program through which members could earn both hotel points and airline miles for the same stay, as well as redeem points for stays with No Blackout Dates. The offering of Points & Miles and No Blackout Dates remains unmatched in the industry.
