Best Sports Websites

To celebrate its 75th anniversary, Lacoste suggests its internet users to reinvent the tennis. Since May 2008, they can imagine how tennis will be played in the future, 75 years from now.

By using a completely realised movie in 3D, www.lacoste-future.com shows in a realistic way the spectacular training of one of the future heirs of Andy Roddick or Richard Gasquet in 2083. The project’s ambition is to attract a new and young public, the 15-25 years old, to make them enjoy looking at Lacoste and its future.

Also, two documentaries sections tell the evolution of tennis starting from the victories of René Lacoste in 1920 until our future character.

The web user is invited to take the floor and to give his vision of the sports’ future via an original contributory module, based on the very latest synthesized voice technology.

The following results have been achieved within three weeks after the website had been launched:
- Home page of yahoo: 73 million impressions, 0,36% click rate
- DailyMotion: more than 106 000 video views, 3,4 million impressions, 0,47% click rate
- YouTube: More than 223 000 video views, 3,7 million impressions, 0,23% click rate
- More than 300 000 visitors on www.lacoste-future.com, 2 000 000 pages seen.

Lacoste Future has been awarded with the gold medal at the TOP COM Consumer 2008, achieved the first place at the “Grand Prix Stratégies Sportfive du Sport 2008” and has been the “site of the day” on the FWA (May 2008).
