Audience: Industrial Safety Professionals
Goal: Lead Generation
The Ansell U interactive game was originally developed by MST Group to support Ansell Occupational Healthcare at the 2007 National Safety Congress.
The game drew a record 1,000 individuals to Ansell’s booth where wait time to play was as long as 1.5 hours. Sales leads from the previous year increased by 160%.
The outstanding success of the program has led to development of a national sweepstakes to launch in March 2008.
Ansell U is set in an industrial manufacturing environment where the User must select the right safety glove to work efficiently.
The User plays as a strapping line manufacturing employee laboring in the metal stamping area of an automotive plant. The User must pick up sharp-edged sheet metal pieces that are coated with a light metal lubricant and place them correctly in the metal stamping machine; then move the finished pieces to a skid that will be transported down the assembly line. This must be completed without sustaining injury or ruining product parts.
Working against the clock to the constant bam, bam, bam of the stamping machine, the User is besieged by a surly Line Supervisor and appears to be in danger of getting hit by a run-away forklift. If the User has chosen the wrong protective gloves, he will receive numerous injuries and be sent to the unsightly Plant Nurse!
Scoring: 1,000 points for each completed part; 250 points deducted for each non-recordable injury; 500 points deducted for each recordable injury.
