In an increasingly crowded mobile marketplace, how can you stand out from your competitors? You offer the best deals and benefits, period. That’s the strategy that Metro by T-Mobile bet on. Their campaign promised zero fees for switching, a $25 per month rate for four phone lines, and an unbelievable offer of four free Samsung Galaxy phones. Metro by T-Mobile has given users a treasure trove of offers. The question: how can they ensure each offer is given its due consideration? And the answer is: give every chapter of this story its own spotlight. For this campaign, we used a carousel. At true[X], we love carousels. They represent linear storytelling, which keeps full control of the narrative in the hands of the brand. This allows our advertisers to determine the order of information that users are exposed to, thereby ensuring that their message is delivered on their terms. Whether that narrative is an image gallery, a storybook, or, as Metro by T-Mobile did, an increasing crescendo of deals – linear storytelling works, period. Users, as it turns out, loved this story. This campaign delivered a 7% lift in Awareness, an 18% lift in Consideration, and 1.4% CTR.
