Visit St. Pete/Clearwater’s mission in creating the Central Avenue experience for their website was to create an innovative multi-media experience on VisitStPeteClearwater.com that tells the story of the Central Avenue district within the destination. Throughout the experience, the focus was to develop new content that helps site visitors to approach the destination like a local in order to trigger an emotional connection with the destination. The primary goal for the experience is to inspire visitors to come to or extend their stay in St. Pete/Clearwater, with a focus on generating engagement through rich media storytelling and articles delivered in a unique, immersive and engaging experience – all designed to generate buzz for Central Avenue and St. Pete/Clearwater. Promoting an extensive cross-section of the people, shops, dining, entertainment and local flavors of the Central Avenue district, the content developed showcases the wide variety of experiences that make the area special, including the dynamic art scene and murals, culinary delights, funky fun finds and nightlife and music. The experience was designed to appeal to users in the dreaming and research phases providing inspirational content and a meaningful media experience.
