HEATING UP SALES, ONE HOT ITEM AT A TIME
THE TARGET
The habitual grocery shopper: for her, time with family is important—she needs quality products at fair prices found in one-stop shopping; quality and reputation of the brands she buys is essential.
THE CHALLENGE
We needed to increase excitement and awareness in special Limited Time Offer originals events, drive urgent demand for our limited-time products, and elevate customer perception of store brand offerings and in-store experience.
THE ANSWER
We know that time management is important to these target customers and they’re looking for premium items at good prices. So, we delivered an engaging, dynamic, quick-read email with a coupon to entice them to hurry in and grab these HOT limited-time original products before they’re gone.
THE WORK
We created a super bold design to mirror these HOT products. Teasing the email with a relevant fire emoji in the subject line was just the beginning. We further spiced up the look with some smoking fire animation and made all images clickable to further online content. Strong, clear messaging surrounds the coupon offer and CTA, so it’s easily scannable.
THE RESULTS
Mixing in our relevant fire emoji significantly increased engagement, with our open rate 33% higher than retail benchmark for the Giant Carlisle store. By making all images clickable, we insured users were still able to reach online content, since design focused on the single CTA button. This resulted in a click-to-open rate 145% higher than retail benchmark for the Giant Carlisle store. This email fired up our target—and these limited-time products flew off the shelves.
