The Memphis CVB placed social media advertising with these two objectives in mind. 1. They wanted to feature storytellers from Memphis that had either a local or national presence and inspire travel to Memphis by showcasing the many attractions and feeling of Memphis through their stories. 2. They wanted to increase awareness of Memphis to regional visitors and remind visitors that Memphis has key events that they must attend. In order to meet these objectives they created a video series called Memphis Originals. The series focused in on talent that lived in Memphis that had a story in conjunction with the things to do in Memphis. The idea was to convey that Memphis is a Authentic place and a melting pot for creativity and innovation. They posted the different videos throughout the year and drove visitors to the website to further the story and be inspired. Success has been achieved with this approach and we have seen more than 6 million views of the series within 6 months and received ample social engagements that included both sharing and commenting about the different videos. For the Regional campaigns we are focusing on the events in Memphis and targeting those to the drive markets. The goal is to bring awareness to the events and encourage visitors to come drive to Memphis for the day or the weekend to enjoy one of the many events in Memphis.
