Kern Schools Federal Credit Union (KSFCU) serves 160,000+ members of various ages, demographics, and computer literacy. So with such a large and diverse user base, the overall goal of the website redesign was to craft an intuitive user experience that seamlessly guides traffic based on an organized content hierarchy and also creates familiarity with key elements like the online banking portal remaining in the same position from the previous website...or in other words, our goal was to create the best credit union website the world has ever seen!
In setting the scope of the project, we intended to humanize the new website by ensuring it was devoid of bank-related stock imagery and boring bank-speak content. So we scheduled a 3-day video / photo shoot in Kern County and we wrote all the SEO-optimized content (English & Spanish) in a conversational tone to convey the vital role KSFCU plays in their community. This strategy has intentionally positioned them as the most approachable bank in their area.
To design the site, we utilized the data from the numerous digital marketing campaigns we’ve ran for KSFCU in the past. Our data-driven design approach allowed us to layout the home page and the 32 internal page templates to encourage content consumption and for specific conversions.
The result is a website that has already received local accolades and most importantly, has created more KSFCU clients...and it’s quite possibly the best credit union website in the world, although we’re probably a little biased.
