The HGE serves as a cross-platform social aggregator that pulls related content from the top five social destinations online (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Tumblr) in real-time, connecting fans through these social networks. Expanded gamification features add a competitive twist to the site and allow fans to interact with the franchise like never before. After registering their District I.D., users are encouraged to view, share and create content, and compete in a number of fun competitions for the chance to earn virtual badges and exclusive prizes. The HGE also doubles as the official movie destination, where fans can come to see the latest film trailers, posters, images and other released content. The Hunger Games Explorer is the definitive voice for all things Hunger Games.
The experience logged nearly 1 billion Twitter impressions in the first 24 hours, and has over 15 million page views to-date.
