Maxim Integrated was looking for an exclusive branding and thought leadership opportunity to showcase its unique electronics solutions, including its innovative analog solutions. In January 2013 UBM Tech re-launched Planet Analog, including a dedicated section called Integration Nation, exclusively sponsored by Maxim Integrated. Maxim Integrated ads and educational resources, such as whitepapers and case studies, appear in this dedicated microsite alongside exceptional and objective editorial content created for Maxim’s target audience, engineers and design engineers. Integration Nation concentrates on the way in which complex analog functions can be integrated onto a silicon chip. That way, lots of functionality can be put in a very small space and the cost of manufacturing can be reduced. Planet Analog discusses the problems that a designer will run up against when trying to do this: How do you put 10 pounds of electronics in a 5 pound box? How do you trouble-shoot a newly designed IC? What different functions can you put on an IC? Which IC fabrication vendor does the best job on these kinds of analog ICs? In the first year, Integration Nation has exceeded Maxim’s expectations, generating 1,460,000 banner ad impressions, 24,000 downloads/leads on its educational resources, and 3,100 message boards from community members responding to content posted on the site.
