The goal of the Budget Impact Model iPad Application was to port existing functionality from an Excel spreadsheet to the iPad so that the Managed Markets team could use the application to demonstrate the potential cost benefits associated with a specific treatment regimen to Payers.
From the outset, we wanted to create an interactive solution that was not only visually engaging but also clearly articulated the associated cost benefit. The application enables the Managed Markets team to quickly and easily demonstrate the cost benefit, and also enables them to customize values on the fly so that they can tailor the presentation specific to the Payer.
The application provides evidence data and cost comparison tables augmented with impactful data visualization to empower the Managed Markets team with a mobile tool that is flexible, and effective, at supporting their conversations with Payers.

The primary audience is Payers, with Physicians being the secondary audience. Right now it is a guided experience but it could easily be extended to a web-based user-directed solution.
Conversations with Payers are unique, and it was imperative to build a tool that supported that conversation, and that could be quickly and easily be customized to demonstrate the cost benefit of a treatment regimen across multiple scenarios.
