In 2010, 16% of hate crimes reported in Canada were motivated by sexual orientation. In the spring of 2013, the Quebec government decided to act by launching its first awareness campaign to fight homophobia. Given that the majority of Quebecers believe themselves to be more open to sexual diversity than average, our objective was clear: make all individuals reflect on their true level of openness.
