Each year, one of Buffalo's ad agencies takes a turn promoting the Advertising Club of Buffalo's annual ADDY awards. It’s an opportunity to craft a campaign geared toward an audience we know intimately – ourselves. Promoting the ADDY Awards means speaking to an almost painfully savvy audience of ad professionals.
At Crowley Webb, we chose a theme, “The Science of Persuasion”, which speaks not only to the traditional sense in which science is part of advertising, but also of the increasingly dominant role technology plays in our business.
Pretty much every agency around is in an “adapt or die” situation, which is scary or exciting, depending on how comfortable you are with the idea of crawling out of the ocean and learning to breathe air. The website features an image depicting that most archetypal of traditional advertising situations, the pitch, as if it were remote and mysterious as early hominids hunting wildebeest.

About the Agency:
Crowley Webb has been a no-nonsense, nose-to-the-grindstone, zero-drama, dirt-under-the-fingernails agency since our humble beginnings back in 1986. Our founders, Joe Crowley and John Webb, used a phone booth in downtown Buffalo as their first office. But an industrious spirit, along with a dedication to both the client and the work, led to continuous growth and made us who we are today – a group of talented people who work hard day after day after day to produce ideas that work equally hard.
