The cystic fibrosis (CF) community is a knowledgeable group. But information about disease progression is lacking. While the topic can be scary for people with CF and their caregivers alike, it’s an important part of living with and treating CF because much disease progression can be silent, especially early on. And with new medications popping up on the horizon, including Vertex’s own portfolio of CFTR modulators, it’s critical to understand the long-term impact CF has on the body.
The new CF Source raises the bar of its predecessor by filling these gaps in information and resources. It tackles heavy, sometimes frightening topics—such as the underlying impact of CF, how it progress over time, and treatment—in a way that imparts urgency without causing stress and fear. In doing so, CF Source seeks to deepen understanding of CF and help users realize the importance of starting treatment early.
The site also includes videos, an interactive timeline and quiz, and a downloadable brochure, while highlighting content with engaging graphics and visuals throughout. And these features aren’t just for show—they help users engage with the content and dig deeper into CF by providing the information in a relatable, friendly format.
This update to CF Source has seen users spend more time on the site, engaging with content throughout. Since launch, the new CF Source has proven that disease progression information is important to members of the CF community—they just needed a resource to find it all in one place.
